A UTA civil engineering professor is implementing a system for the Texas Department of Transportation that will help reduce cracking in highway pavement and stabilize highway slopes when soil begins to shift.

An initial UTA study has found abnormalities in drinking water in the Eagle Ford Shale region, indicative of some contamination from industrial or agricultural activities in the area. The research, led by Professor Kevin Schug, was published recently in the journal "Science of the Total Environment."
