Chiao, of UT Arlington’s Electrical Engineering Department, have made a breakthrough in the design of a miniature gastrostimulator to help cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and severely distressed diabetic patients with gastroparesis restore stomach motility so they can digest food.
