With gasoline prices near all-time highs, cycling is becoming an increasingly popular mode of transportation. Not only do bicycles save money, they also help protect the environment. The Office of Sustainability recently launched the Maverick Bike Program to encourage bicycle use to, from, and on campus by providing the University community with a safe and efficient cycling environment. Each semester students, faculty, and staff can enter a raffle to win the use of a bike, along with a helmet, lights, locks, and bells. The program also features various repair packages and a campus bike shop that offers bicycle maintenance.
