Myrna Pickard’s legacy extends beyond a name on a building. The College of Nursing’s founding dean, for whom Pickard Hall is named, has included UT Arlington in her estate plans. She and her late husband, Bob, wanted to make a difference in the university that meant so much to them. “Bob was an alumnus of Arlington State College (now UT Arlington), and I was a university dean,” says Dr. Pickard, a charter member of the Edward E. Rankin Legacy Society. “So it was fulfilling to both of us to include a gift to UT Arlington in our estate plans.” Established through a living trust, their commitment will benefit the College of Nursing.
