Rotor Blades

A UTA researcher is working with NASA to predict the strength and life of rotor blade assemblies. Endel Iarve, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and an expert in composite materials, will lead the three-year, $1 million project utilizing computational models. The models will simulate material behavior, reduce the amount of testing, and lead to the development of next-generation aircraft. The project could also reduce the timeline for development and certification of state-of-the-art composite materials and structures.
