Power Player

Sandra Mendoza

Sandra Mendoza put together one of the best seasons in Maverick softball history, breaking records for hits (76) and batting average (.461). The second baseman etched her name into history books with a 4-for-5 performance in the final home game of the season, passing Katie Jones' record of 71 hits set in 2007. She finished the season 10th in Division I batting average and 25th in on-base percentage (.528). Mendoza was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference first team and the National FastPitch Coaches Association's Second-Team All-Central Region.
