Amelia Jackson

Top Scholars

A diverse campus and a commitment to academic excellence attracted some of North Texas' top high school scholars to UTA as incoming freshmen in the class of 2020. Amelia Jackson, the valedictorian at Mansfield Legacy High School, made the choice to come to UTA thanks in part to her dad, a mechanical engineering graduate. She's now following in his footsteps. "At first I wanted to maybe go to an Ivy League school and I applied to Colorado School of Mines, but at the end of the day, the UTA campus was the most welcoming, the staff was the best fit for me, and I'm not very far from my family," she says. The class of 2020 is filled with valedictorians, salutatorians, and National Merit Scholars, proving that the best choose UTA.
