What is PeopleSoft?
See the Glossary of Terms web page for more information.
What is UTShare?
See the Glossary of Terms web page for more information.
Why are we changing from DEFINE?
DEFINE is an antiquated system that prevents UTA from
easily accessing data and limits UTA's ability to keep up with
current business trends.
How will PeopleSoft improve our business processes?
UTA will have access to better data, which will enhance
our decision-making processes. UTA also has an excellent opportunity to
review its business processes, which will allow us to perform our jobs
faster, better, and more efficiently. This project will also help us
reach our goal of becoming a premier public research institution (Tier
1).
Who is affected by this change?
Every UTA employee is affected.
When will these changes become effective?
There are several phases UTA will undergo prior to the 'Go
Live' date. The September 1, 2013 'Go Live' date is the day that UTA
will start using PeopleSoft to perform all of the business processes
previously completed in DEFINE (including third-party software products
or interfaces).
Is UTA the only UT institution that is involved in this implementation project?
No. Five other UT campuses (San Antonio, El Paso, Permian Basin, Brownsville, and Tyler) and UT System are also involved in this implementation
project. UT Dallas has completed their implementation of PeopleSoft, see
the UT Dallas - Gemini website for more information.
When is training going to occur?
End user training for UTShare is scheduled for 3rd Qtr. Of 2013
