I can log in to WebCT, but my class is not listed.
If you registered late, you might not have been added to your online class yet. There is a 24 hour time lag in data transfer from the time you register and pay in the MyMav registration system to the time your name is transferred to WebCT. You can either wait a day or e-mail support@distance.uta.edu with your name and NetID, plus the name, number, section number and instructor name of the missing course(s). (For example: John Doe - jd0000; ENGL 1010.001 Smith, J.) Someone will help you as quickly as possible.

As long as you didn’t click on Finish, you can get back into your quiz and can continue taking the test. However, the timer will continue running even while you are not connected to the Internet.

I think WebCT changed my saved Quiz answer.
WebCT will not change your saved Quiz answer. You do have to make sure that you click on “Save Answer” after you select, enter, or change an answer.

I think I’m missing messages in the Discussion area of my WebCT course.
You can view your messages in different formats. You’re probably looking at your messages in the Threaded format. If you click on “Threaded” you will see your messages listed by message and responses. In this arrangement, you should click on the blue triangle to see all of the responses. If you click on “Unthreaded” you will see your messages listed chronologically.

How can I tell if my message posted properly to a discussion topic?
The message listing doesn’t automatically update when you post a message. Click on “Update Listing” to see a current list of messages, including your own.

I see my messages listed, but I can’t click on them.
What typically occurs is that you click on a discussion post to view it, and the pop-up window containing the message will not open. If your Web browser is blocking pop-up windows, temporarily disable that option. Ad-blocking software can also cause this problem; you may want to try disabling it while you’re in WebCT. Finally, you may need to add WebCT as a trusted site.

I cannot view this document/media file on my course page/supplemental CD-ROM. Why?
You probably don’t have the correct plug-in installed on your computer. Check to see if your instructor has listed which plug-ins you need. The Computer Configuration page has links to many popular plug-ins. Also, if you’re using Internet Explorer 6.0 SP 1, you may have to add WebCT as a trusted site.

I entered my username and password and now I’m asked to enter an Access/Confirmation Code; what is it?
This happens if your instructor purchased an E-Pack, which is a supplemental teaching pack provided by the publisher of your textbook with WebCT. The code should be included within your textbook. If you have any problems with it, check with your instructor.
