WebCT Online Courses

What is WebCT?

The University of Texas at Arlington offers its faculty and students the opportunity to supplement their on-campus course work and receive degrees online.

WebCT is a Web-based e-learning environment. In this virtual classroom professors can post lectures, class notes, assignments, grades, and online quizzes, document course activities, and monitor student participation in discussion forums. It facilitates communication between faculty and students via integrated e-mail, chat and bulletin boards.

Perhaps the biggest advantage of WebCT is that it allows students to access course work at any time of the night or day. WebCT is used for these types of courses:

• Regular classes in classrooms on campus with supplemental materials online
• Blended classes with some online and some on campus
• 100% online classes with no on-campus meetings times required
