Student Upload Procedure
Adding students to your course
Once your WebCT course is ready to go live, either you or the course designer must add students using the appropriate MyMav student roster. To do this, complete the Student Upload form. Some instructors may want to combine sections of a course into one WebCT course shell. This is not uncommon with cross-listed courses. A separate upload form must be completed for each section in these instances.
You must request a student upload for your course each semester during the two weeks leading up to the first day of the semester. (Class rosters are not available until two weeks before the first day of the semester, so don’t try to do the upload before then.)
Before you make a request
Before completing the form, please have the following information available for each of your courses:
- Semester
- WebCT Course Name [e.g. BIOL 3309 - Medical Terminology (SP05)]
- University Course Name [e.g. BIOL 3309 001]
Things to remember while completing the form
There may be multiple copies of your course from preceding semesters, so make absolutely certain you select the correct course and the correct semester for the upload.
Read carefully through the confirmation page before submitting your information.
Upload requests may take up to 24 hours to process before a student appears in a WebCT course. An automatic update from MyMav runs nightly, adding students that were registered, paid, and listed on the class roster by midnight of that day. If a student who should be listed in your WebCT course does not appear, before you report an issue ask him or her when payment for the course was made. If payment was made at or after 11:00 p.m. the night before, please wait one more day and check the roster again. You should also ask the student to make certain there were no payment issues awaiting resolution in the system.
