Why did you choose to attend UT Arlington?
  • I chose to attend UTA because of the diverse student population. Financially as well UTA provided the best scholarships out there for me which is what made my mind up to choose UTA.
What is your favorite thing about the College of Education at UT Arlington?
  • My favorite thing about the college of education at UTA is how supportive and passionate the professors are. Both the professors and advisors really care about our success in becoming an educator, so they'll always let us know that they are there for us.
Who is your favorite professor? Why?
  • Professor Shelton would be my favorite professor, you could tell how passionate he was about sociology. He was able to keep the large class engaged and always provided different ways to help us care for ourselves and for one another by going to listen to guest speakers.
What activities do you participate in outside of class?
  • Prior to COVID, I participated in the Filipino Student Association, where I learned to play flag football. I also worked in retail and volunteered for an after school tutoring program through Mission Arlington.
What are your plans after you graduate?
  • After I graduate, I'd like to work in GISD, which is the district I attended during my elementary, middle, and high school years and teach as a 1st-grade teacher.
What is the one thing you think a prospective Education student needs to know?
  • The College of Education program here at UTA is the best, the way that the program is set up will ensure that all future educators are equipped with the tools and experience necessary to be an outstanding educator. Don't let anything discourage you from wanting to be a part of this wonderful journey.
