The College of Engineering Student Stories

Meet Saul
I chose UTA because of its strong software engineering program and the opportunities it provides for both academic and professional growth. My brothers highly recommended the university and when I visited, I immediately felt how diverse and welcoming the campus was. That sense of community made me confident that UTA was the right place for me.
I chose engineering because I've always enjoyed solving problems and understanding how things work. As I learned more about the field, I realized how impactful engineering can be, whether it's creative solutions or helping people through technology. The combination of problem-solving and real-world impact really motivated me. I chose to study software engineering because I enjoy building solutions through code and working on projects that make a real difference. I like being able to take an idea, design it, and turn it into something functional.
I hope to build a career in data science and apply what I’ve learned to solve real-world problems using data. I also want to continue developing my leadership and management skills, with the goal of eventually moving into project management. I want to combine my technical background with my communication and leadership abilities to make an impact in future projects and teams.
