HDR Archaeology Crew Chief

Archaeological Crew Chiefs are responsible for managing archaeological survey crews and site documentation, which includes feature and artifact identification and analyses; performing shovel test pits (STPs); site descriptions; photographs; and mapping. Crew Chiefs must possess the technical knowledge to supervise archaeological field technicians who are required to perform the following tasks in the field. Baylor University is offering a new PhD program in the Anthropology of Health with cross-disciplinary training in biomedical, medical, and applied anthropology to prepare graduates for jobs in academia, research, business and industry, government, and other vocations. Students are guaranteed five years of full funding (tuition, stipend, and health insurance) in addition to travel and research support.

Learn bioarchaeology and archaeological field techniques at the 11th century cemetery at Giecz, Poland. Students get hands-on experience in recovery of human remains. Academic credit is available. To earn credit toward your UTA degree, you must request this in advance through the Department Advisor.

Archaeological Technician

MOAC is looking for both permittable archaeologists and archaeological technicians for temporary/seasonal work. Immediate up and coming jobs will be located in different parts of the state of Utah and in addition, several weeks of work will be located near Elko, NV beginning mid June. Underwater Archaeology Field School 2021

This fieldschool will take place in Alpena, Michigan in the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Students will get the unique experience of underwater archaeological survey and exploration – and see firsthand how, where, and why archaeologists search underwater.
