Bird Walk
Early bird walk around Randol Mill Park by birding expert and Texas Master Naturalist Charley Amos, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
The Arlington Conservation Council (ACC), University of Texas at Arlington College of Science (COS) and the Neighbors of Randol Mill Park (NORMP) are sponsoring an Earth Day celebration at Randol Mill Park (1901 W Randol Mill Rd, Arlington, TX) on Saturday, April 23, to cap the College's Science Week. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. on the day of the event, with an early Birding Walk provided prior to assigned work taking place from 9 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers for the following events are welcomed and completion of the volunteer interest form is encouraged.
Early bird walk around Randol Mill Park by birding expert and Texas Master Naturalist Charley Amos, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Monitoring the 11 bluebird boxes for nests, nestlings, etc., immediately following the bird walk.
Trash pick-up around the park natural areas, including the creek, pond and fields.
Working in and around the Randol Mill Park greenhouse with native plants, including potting sedge for use in beautification and erosion control efforts.
Working in and around the Randol Mill Park pollinator gardens.
Removing invasive plants in the wildflower area, and removing privet in Randol Mill Park natural areas.
Planting trees and sedge for beauty and erosion control.
