Commencement Ceremony

To-Do Checklist:

  • Verify with your academic advisor for your eligibility to graduate and honors status, if applicable.
  • Complete all requirements, completion of all credit hours, practicum hours, transcript transfers etc. needed to graduate. The final awarding of degrees and honors is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the appropriate requirements by each candidate.
  • MyMav - Apply to graduate (include payment) AND RSVP for the Commencement Ceremony.
    Graduation is the formal process of receiving your degree.
    Commencement is when the graduating candidate WALK across the stage.
  • October 3rd – Deadline to Apply for Graduation and pay fee.
  • MarchingOrder - Register in MarchingOrder with your UTA email address and indicate if you would like to attend the in-person ceremony, virtual ceremony, or neither.  If attending one of the ceremonies, continue by answering additional questions, add pronunciation of your name and upload your picture (in graduation regalia or business attire) for your graduate slide.  You will need access to MarchingOrder to receive updated information on your commencement ceremony and reserve your guest tickets.  You can also access MarchingOrder through the UTA Commencement website.
  • Late RSVP: We are still accepting RSVP’s.  RSVP by creating an account with your UTA student email and completing the Participation Form on MarchingOrder on the UTA Commencement website.  Only those who have created an account will receive updated information on the ceremony that they chose to attend.
  • TBA: Grad Finale at the UTA Bookstore – your opportunity for the graduate and/or their parents to view and purchase regalia (early bird pricing), rings, diploma frames, and order invitations. Click here for more information.
  • TBA: Order your regalia (cap, gown, and hood for Master's) to guarantee arrival before your ceremony.
  • TBA: Entry period to participate in the Grad Cap Decorating Contest (for instructions) entries end TBA.
  • TBA: Guest Ticketing Information email will be sent to students who applied to graduate in MyMav and indicated their plans to participate in commencement in MarchingOrder.
  • TBA: Offer 1 ticketing goes live. All tickets must be claimed and printed in advance.
  • TBADeadline to apply for Maverick Advantage
  • TBA: Deadline to upload graduate photo within MarchingOrder.
  • TBA: Offer 2 ticketing goes live.
  • TBA: Offer 3 ticketing goes live.
  • TBA: GradPass will be sent through MarchingOrder.  Please print your GradPass and bring it with you to your ceremony.  The scan is needed to announce your name while you are walking across the stage.
  • TBA: Vote on your favorite graduation cap during the voting period.
  • TBA: Winners of the Grad Cap Decorating Contest will be announced.
  • TBA: Deadline to submit your approved Thesis or Dissertation to the Library AND submit a report of your Final Master’s Exam Report or Dissertation Defense Report to the Office of Admissions, Records and Registration (Master’s and PhD students)
  • Share photos on social media using #ForeverMaverick.
  • Diplomas are distributed by the Office of the Registrar at the University Administration Building 6-8 weeks after your degree is conferred.  This link is also for ordering Transcripts.

This questionnaire is only for those who are being honored for graduating during the Fall 2022. Accommodations for family members will be handled by the College Park Center Guest Services.
