Center for African American Studies

The School of Social Work supports the UTA Center for African American Studies in its work to uplift the causes of African American students and community. On September 29th, 2021, the SSW sponsored CAAS’s opening night lecture, which allowed the UTA student body and community to attend a free evening with renowned African American journalist Roland Martin. Martin spoke on conditions facing African Americans in the post-Civil Rights Era.
