Wednesday, Jan 13, 2016

The University of Texas at Arlington’s School of Social Work proudly congratulates its recent student inductees into the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Delta Alpha Pi National Honor Society, an organization that recognizes the academic accomplishments of college and university students with disabilities.

Among the honor society’s inductees were Jordan Boss, David Babbs (both MSW students) and Robert Howell-Jennings (BSW student). Boss, Babbs, and Howell-Jennings are students in the School of Social Work and were inducted into Delta Alpha Pi National Honor Society’s Alpha Omicron Chapter at the University of Texas at Arlington on November 16, 2015.

Delta Alpha Pi is the first honor society to recognize academic achievements of students with disabilities. Members also facilitate the development of leadership skills, advocacy, and education.

Delegates of Delta Alpha Pi National Honor Society display pride in their academic accomplishments, as well as honor  students who have disabilities. The mission of the honor society is to help change negative perceptions that disabled students cannot achieve academically. Members of Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society counter prejudice and negative perceptions through public recognition, leadership, and visibility.
