UTA’s School of Social Work proudly congratulates Jeyle Ortiz-Gonzales, social work doctoral student, on receiving the Women's and Gender Studies Student Excellence Award at UTA’s Annual Celebration of Excellence by Students (ACES) on March 23, 2016 in the Central Library on campus. The ceremony celebrates academic excellence for students, faculty and staff across all colleges at the University of Texas at Arlington. Ortiz-Gonzales was recognized for her dissertation that is titled Differences in Levels of Support for Gender Equality between Working and Nonworking Women in Mexico. Dr. Vijayan Pillai, social work professor and internationally recognized expert in women’s rights and reproductive health in developing countries, chaired her dissertation.
