He was one of several individuals who were celebrated for their outstanding leadership, contributions to education, research and the social work profession.
Michael Lummus’ concentration of study at UTA’s School of Social Work is community and administrative practice. His professional goal following graduation is to work for an organization that creates equal and just opportunities for disenfranchised populations.
He is President-Emeritus of the Student Veterans Organization on UTA’s campus and helps the organization achieve its mission of enhancing the collegiate experience for veteran students, providing resources and networking opportunities that help student veterans be successful in their academic careers.
