The Phi Alpha Honor Society held a collection drive for school supplies during the Spring semester and recently donated the items to the Lucyle Collins Middle School. The Phi Alpha Honor Society is one of many Social Work student organizations currently accepting new members. The requirements to join the honor society are listed below.
All New Applicants Must:
- Meet either the BSW or MSW or PhD admissions requirements
- Complete 10 hours of community service by application deadline.
- Complete an applicant statement
- Participate in one meeting and one event per semester to be eligible to purchase a graduation stole (Special accommodations will be made for the online cohort, LCU, and ASU students).
Additional Requirements for BSW Students:
- Declared Social Work as your major
- Achieved Junior status
- Completed at least 12 hours of Social Work courses
- Achieved an overall GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in social work courses.
Additional Requirements for MSW and PhD Students:
- Completed 18 semester hours of Social Work courses
- Achieved a minimum GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale in social work courses.
- Advanced standing students may count the hours that were waived in the semester hours completed.
All Students Wishing to Transfer Membership from another Phi Alpha:
- Attach a copy of your membership certificate to an application form
- Remitting the transfer application fee.
