I had an admissions counselor who was there for me when I was a senior, and now I get to do that for others! I love when the students I helped can say "UTA was there for me in a way no other university was." I strive to be there for students in small ways every day. My favorite memory was an email from one of my students during his first semester at UTA thanking me and telling me that my work had "quite possibly changed his life." That made me proud not only of my work, but of UTA too.
I came from a small school where I knew everyone, so I was worried that a school of UTA's size would feel impersonal. I'm proud that UTA keeps that small campus feel by striving to keep students engaged and treat them like part of the Maverick family.
Choosing a university is not about figuring out which school is better, it's about which school is better for you! The best way to figure that out is to visit as many times as you can. Don't just stick to the campus tour— wander the campus and talk to current students. They're the real experts about what it's like to be a student here.
