Rapid Power Management

jd@rapidpower.net

In 2002, when I told my lovely wife, Kristi, who happened to be pregnant with our first daughter, that I had a desire to start a customer centric business in the energy space, she thought I was crazy.

I had worked for a huge entity, Reliant Energy, and felt they were missing the mark in helping businesses navigate their energy spending. Many years later, I am very thankful to the many people, current and from the past that have helped me develop a culture that helps me realize my passion.

That passion is educating our clients to make smart energy decisions, which leads them to become great corporate citizens. Today, we reduce energy expenses for companies like Wal-Mart, Pratt Industries, Interstate Batteries, and Lincoln properties.

Paying 100% of my own way, I went the community college route for two years, then graduated from University of Houston-Clear Lake in '91'. My last semester, I had to put $1,500 on a credit card to pay for two interview suits and my last semester of books. Hard to believe these days, but I almost made it out of school without debt!

Years later, I decided to get worldlier and attended graduate school at night and on weekends. After 4 ½ years, I attained an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas with a focus in International Business Management.

After college, to sharpen my energy axe, I attained a CEM (Certified Energy Manager) certification in '06' and a CLEP (Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional) certification in '07'.
