Dean Gatzke Recognized by Texas Architects Honor Awards

The Texas Society of Architects has recognized Don Gatzke, AIA, Dean of the School of Architecture at The University of Texas at Arlington, with the Award for Outstanding Educational Contributions in Honor of Edward Romieniec, FAIA, as part of it's 2014 Texas Architects Honor Awards.
The Awards "recognize exceptional members, firms, individuals, and organizations for their outstanding achievements in support of the profession of architecture, the built environment, and the quality of life in Texas," according the the Society's website.
In announcing the award, the Texas Society of Architects noted Dean Gatzke's contributions to the UT Arlington campus community and his professional colleagues in the architecture field.
"Donald Gatzke’s leadership as dean of the school of architecture at UT Arlington has established a framework for exemplary education that models the importance of integrating practice, community service, and academic excellence. Don has been a great leader, educator, mentor, and friend, not only to his students and staff at UTA, but also to the professional members of the AIA Fort Worth chapter and TxA."
2014 Texas Architects Honor Award recipients will be recognized at the Society's 75th Annual Convention and Design Expo, November 6–8, 2014, in Houston. They will also be featured in Texas Architect magazine's November/December 2014 issue.
