Meet our Summer@CAPPA Class of 2016!

AguilarAilynn Aguilar

Arlington Collegiate High School

What drew you to Summer@CAPPA? Interior design. Ever since I was nine I would watch shows about interior design on HGTV and fell in love with it. There are so many careers that I have in mind, and this is one of them. I wanted to attend this camp to see if it was something I would really like to continue in the future.

What are you most excited to do while you're at UTA this week?  I am most excited to get a bit of a campus life experience. I am also very excited for the unknown. Every day there is something new.

Tell us one thing about you most people don't know.  One thing about me that most people don't know is that I really enjoy dancing and choreography. I do it on my own time at home, but never dance seriously in public. This is why people don't expect it when I bust out my nice dance moves!

What are you most proud of? I am learning my 4th language and I could become fluent in it by the end of the year if I give enough effort.

What drew you to Summer@CAPPA?  I wanted to be a part of this summer camp because I wanted to discover architecture. I also wanted to know if this is something I would enjoy studying.

What do you want to do after high school? I want to go to a university but if I haven't made my decision when I finish high school. I am looking for a public college or university for civil engineering.

What drew you to Summer@CAPPA? I knew it was going to be about architecture, and civil engineering is similar to it. I thought it could give me more information about what it’s like to be a civil engineer

If you could have one super power, what would it be?  Maybe telekinesis or to fly

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of entering a high school that will let me graduate with my high school diploma and an associates degree.

What drew you to Summer@CAPPA? There were many factors that drew me into CAPPA. One was that it will help me learn more about architecture and that I would experience one of the colleges I am interested in.

Tell us one thing about you most people don't know. What a lot of people don't know about me is that I am good at playing the violin.

What are you most proud of? I'm proud of where I'm at in life right now. I'll have the opportunity to study at CAPPA next fall on a decent scholarship and I'm interning at an architecture firm right now.

If you could have one super power, what would it be? Super intelligence would be a pretty cool power to have. Sometimes all it takes a little brain power to solve a problem, super brain power would solve some bigger problems.

What drew you to Summer@CAPPA? My architecture teacher told me about the program and I wanted to be a part of it in order to expand my knowledge of architecture and possibly create pieces I could use in a portfolio for college and scholarships.

What are you most excited to do while you're here at UTA? I am excited to learn from actual professors to get a good look of what college would be like while majoring in architecture.

If you could have one super power, what would it be? I would love to fly, so I would never have to be stuck in traffic.

What are you most proud of? I'm proud of myself for applying to an early college high school. I knew it was going to be challenging and we need to be committed to school. I thought it was going to be so hard but, before I knew it, it was already the end of the school year and I was so proud of myself that I completed a whole year!

What drew you to Summer@CAPPA? I'm interested in interior design and architecture. I want to learn and experience things dealing with these two majors.

Tell us one word that best describes you. One word that would describe me would be welcoming. I like to meet new people and when I do, I want to make them feel comfortable and not awkward!

What drew you to Summer@CAPPA? My cousin knows that I want to be an architect. We visited UTA for a tour and she suggested that I apply to Summer@Cappa with the hope that I will enjoy learning about architecture.

What drew you to Summer@CAPPA? I really enjoy design, so I thought I should give architecture a try. I had little to no background with architecture, and I love trying new things.

What are you most excited to do while you're here at UTA? I am most excited to meet new people and also to see what I learn and how I grow from the cool things we do.

Tell us one thing about you most people don't know.  Most people don't know that I have played the piano since Kindergarten.
