Group Counseling

Group Counseling

Why Join a Group?

When issues involve relationships or social connection (family, romantic, peer), groups can be very effective. Members can try out new ways of relating to others that can be applied to relationships outside of the group. Groups also provide structure and assistance in skills building and learning new strategies to meet your goals with the support of other group members. These small, co-ed groups (6-10 students) will meet weekly to enhance interpersonal skills and general well being. The group provides opportunities to gain self-awareness, explore personal and relationship issues, and give and receive feedback in a safe environment. For more information or to schedule an initial consultation, please call 817-272-3671.

I’m interested in group therapy, how do I get started?

It is normal to have questions about your group experience. CAPS offers group screening appointments so you can meet with group facilitators, discuss concerns and goals, and learn more about the group. Group leaders will collaborate with you in deciding if group is the right step for you. For more information, call 817-272-3671.

Please be aware that an initial consultation appointment will also be needed, therefore contacting CAPS as soon as possible will ensure the opportunity to complete the consultation and screening process.
