Ayotzinapa Anniversary

Ayotzinapa's 43 students

Film: Documentary

In view of the first anniversary of this tragedy, CMAS invites you to watch the recently released documentary “Ayotzinapa: Chronicle of a State Crime”. Produced by independent Mexican filmmakers (in Spanish with English subtitles), the documentary explores the unsolved case of the missing students based on the testimony of witnesses, experts, and students who survived the massacre in Guerrero.

About the Film

September 26, 2015 marks the first anniversary of the Ayotzinapa students who forcibly disappeared in Guerrero, Mexico in circumstances that have not yet been clarified. The massacre of 43 students of a poor rural town, many of them of indigenous origin, is one of the worst tragedies in Mexico’s recent history and attracted national and international attention. An independent report released earlier this month by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights has questioned the Mexican government’s official version of the students’ disappearance.
