Friday, September 25, 2015The UT-Arlington chapter of the Collegiate Middle Level Association (CMLA) has been recognized by the Association for Middle Level Eduation as the 2015 AMLE Collegiate Chapter of the Year. The chapter will be recognized at the annual AMLE national conference in Clumbus, Ohio on October 15th. Twenty UTA middle-level education students will be traveling to the national conference to accept the award and to give a workshop about the journey of becoming a teacher. CMLA at UTA is a professional education organizationf or students who are preparing to become middle-level classroom teachers. Teh chapter's recognition and a $2,000 travel grant was awarded based on chapter activities in service, professional development, and activities in a school setting. This is the fourth year the CMLA at UTA has attended; Each year, through fundraising, approximately ten students have been able to attend the annual AMLE meeting. CLMA at UTA develops in students a commitment to middle-level education; promotes leadership and service opportunities, and provides the experience of participating in a national conference.
