MavPlays 2020 spotlights the world premiere of the original work MONSTER LAGOON written by UTA’s playwright-in-residence, Dr. Natalie Gaupp.
The University of Texas at Arlington’s Maverick Theatre Company presents MONSTER LAGOON by Natalie Gaupp. Lainie Jorgenson flips houses. And she’s damned good at it. But Lainie’s about to meet her match at the homestead of the dearly departed Samuel Tanner. She’s about to climb into an attic and discover Sam’s old sketchbooks, full of 1950s Hollywood Sci-Fi monsters. Lainie’s about to enter Monster Lagoon, a place where Sam kept his dreams and nightmares…and where Lainie will finally confront her most painful childhood memories.
MONSTER LAGOON features members of UTA’s Maverick Theatre Company including: Bethany Doolin (Lainie), Francisco Grifaldo-Cairasco (Chuck), Kyle Dodd (Sam), Melissa Wagner (Logan), and Adrian Arteaga (Babineaux/Monster).
MONSTER LAGOON is directed by Associate Professor Joe Chapa with scenic design by Lucy Tran, costume design by Sarah Rosenkranz, light design by Brooke Ford, sound design by Emily Jolly, technical direction by Cameron Collis, and stage managed by Dwayne Bruce with scenic artist Lindsey Sinopoli.
