Maverick Family & Guest Experience

Welcome Maverick parents, families, and friends.

Commencement marks a significant achievement for your student; they’ve worked hard to obtain their degrees and achieve their goals. There is no question that the support, motivation and inspiration provided by their family and friends guided them along this journey to degree completion.

Here at UTA our goal is to engage, involve, educate, and support the entire Maverick family. Which means not only are these ceremonies meant to congratulate and honor our new graduates, but it is also an event to be shared with those who have helped them along the way.

We welcome you and your family to The University of Texas Arlington Commencement Ceremony. During such unprecedented times we are facing, we could use some Maverick Family Pride to celebrate our student’s the Maverick Way.

We can’t wait to meet you and your family!

NOTE: Be sure to review all family and guest Commencement details in this section. If you have questions or concerns, please check-in with your student first. Graduating seniors receive direct communication from Commencement staff and their colleges. If there are further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at

NO BAG Policy

We want everyone to have a memorable experience at our commencement ceremonies in Globe Life Field. The foundation of that experience is providing a safe and secure venue. Globe Life Field has a no bag policy that helps us to ensure each person’s safety so positive, lasting memories can be created. For special events, we are following a No bag policy with the exception of a medical bag or diaper bag for guest accompanied by young children. A sealed bottle of water is still allowed.

Please be sure to leave all bags at home or in your car before approaching the stadium. They will turn guests away.

Guest Seating

Tickets are required for entry into Globe Life Field for any guests over 36 inches tall.

Starting April 28 at noon, each graduate will be able to select seats for their guests with a pod of 8 guest tickets and if desired a second pod of 2 guest tickets. We encourage graduates and their families to plan ahead to know if you will need the second pod. Graduates will be issued their entrance ticket separately the week of the ceremony. There is no cost associated with guest tickets and the reselling of tickets is strictly prohibited by the University. This process can only be handled by graduates.

View the seating map.

Guests Receiving Tickets

Guests receiving tickets from graduates will be sent an email that prompts them to accept the tickets. Once they accept the tickets, they will need to download the MLB Ballpark App and create an account using the email address that their tickets were sent to. From there they will be able to access their tickets for entry.

Please note guests arriving together can use one email and account to access and enter Globe Life Field on the day of the UTA Commencement Ceremony.
