Nursing Cooperative Education Program for On-Campus Students

For On-Campus BSN and RN-to-BSN students

Integrating Work Experience Into Your Education

The Cooperative Education Program at UT Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation is designed to offer a means for students to gain work experience appropriate to their educational and career needs, to monitor and evaluate their work experience, and to help students integrate work experiences into their total education.

N3100, N3200, N4100, N4200

A prelicensure student who begins the Co-Op experience in their Junior year (N3100 and N3200) after completing Jr I courses is prepared to work as a nursing assistant. You will be asked to provide 3-5 goals - your goals need to be reflective of what you want to accomplish in taking this course and must be measurable and achievable.

Registered Nurses currently in the RN-to-BSN program (having completed at least one semester in the program) can work as a nurse in an approved facility, if under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Goals for the RN in Co-Op will differ in scope from those of the pre-licensure student. Goals need to be measurable and achievable and must be approved by the Co-Op Coordinator.
The RN-to-BSN student now has the option of developing their goals or accepting standard goals as listed on this flyer.

Course credit will be given for cooperative education experiences at the rate of 1 credit per 50 paid work hours. The Co-Op Coordinator (Dr. Beth Mancini) approves all experiences and the course is pass/fail.
