Distance Learning in Electrical Engineering

Students desiring to earn the MSEE degree at the University of Texas at Arlington may earn their degrees through Engineering Online.  Three major tracks are available to meet the needs of a variety of career interest, Control Systems, Digital Signal Processing, and Solid State Devices and Circuits.

Students enrolled in Engineering Online degree programs will be considered as non-Thesis, enabling them to complete a degree based on coursework alone.  Twelve courses (36 semester credit hours) are needed to complete an Online degree.  To guarantee a breadth of understanding in Electrical Engineering students are required to take three courses outside their specific area of interest (for a total of four Technical Areas).  They are also required to take three “Technical Proficiency Courses” to demonstrate foundational competence in three of the Technical Areas.  Putting all this together, though, if a student takes one Technical Proficiency Course in the primary area of interest, and then takes two Technical Proficiency Courses in two other Technical Areas, then only one additional course is required in a fourth Technical Area.

Students are normally expected to start during the Fall semester.
