Office of the President, UTA

July 8, 2020

Dear UTA Faculty, Staff and Students,

This week the Department of Homeland Security announced restrictions that prohibit international students from studying in the U.S. in fully online programs. We have looked closely at these policies to determine how it will affect our international students.

We are committed to supporting our international students. We will work with each international student to ensure a fair and effective educational environment.

As we have previously announced, UTA will be offering online, face-to-face, and hybrid courses for the fall semester and we are making every effort to find solutions that will help international students maintain their academic progress and be able to comply with all federal requirements.

Our international students are being contacted directly with more information. We are also scheduling listening sessions for international students to receive further information and ask questions, for early next week. Students with questions or concerns should reach out to the Office of International Education for assistance.

Sincerely,

Teik C. Lim, Ph.D.
President ad interim
