The last several weeks at UTA have been filled with celebrations and accolades—recent commencement activities, the successful launch of the fall semester, and the designation of UTA as a tier one institution, making the university eligible for more state-supported research funding.  I’m proud of the efforts of UTA’s leadership, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and philanthropists.  Everyone has a role in making UTA the best it can be, and your good work continues to turn heads throughout Texas and beyond.

Since my last letter to you, we have convened the Presidential Search Advisory Committee once, and now we’re eager to hear from you.  We will host a Town Hall meeting on Monday, September 13, from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on the UTA campus.  You are invited to participate either in person (with social distancing, masks, and other safety features respectfully requested), or virtually, as we seek your thoughts on what you hope to see in the characteristics of a president who will lead UT Arlington’s future.  For those wishing to participate in person, we’ll meet in the Science and Engineering Innovation and Research Building (SEIR) auditorium, Room 298, at 655 West Mitchell Street.
