Celebrating A Maverick
Lillie Biggns ('74), president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital was honored by Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price ('72) through a proclamation making January 5 Lillie Biggins Day. Biggins retired after more than 45 years in health care leadership. READ MORE

The UTA community turned out in force to support Maria Martinez-Cosio, UTA associate vice provost for faculty development, and Amanda Moreno-Lake, friend of the University, who were both recognized as Mujeres Legendarias by the Ford Motor Company. VanDijk named NCAA CLASs candidate
UTA senior center Rebekah VanDijk is the Sun Belt Conference's nominee for the NCAA 2017-2018 Senior CLASS Award. She is being recognized for her on- and off-the-court achievements. READ MORE

Understanding Neural Damage
Dr. Ashfaq Adnan, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, was awarded an Office of Naval Research grant to study the potential link between head trauma and neurological disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder, Alzheimer's disease, and Chronic Traumatic Encepholopathy. UTA’s Meghna Tare has been selected to serve on the board of directors for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, the leading association of its kind in North America. Tare is the director of UTA's Institute for Sustainability and Global Impact. READ MORE
