Making History Again

Already UTA's all-time rebounding leader, Kevin Hervey made history once again with his selection in the 2018 NBA draft. Taken by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the 57th pick overall, Hervey became the highest draft selection in program history. He was also the first Sun Belt Conference player drafted since 2015 and the fourth UTA player ever to be selected in the draft. READ MORE

Physics Matters
UTA Alumni Relations

The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded UTA assistant professor of physics Benjamin Jones $750,000 to develop a sensor for particle experiments that focus on the neutrino, a subatomic particle that may offer an answer to the lingering mystery of the universe’s matter-antimatter imbalance. Research performed by Jones and physics doctoral student Austin McDonald, both pictured above, could elucidate theories about the universe's existence. READ MORE

Award-Winning teacher
UTA Alumni Relations

Greg Hale, UTeach Arlington co-director and assistant dean of science, received the UTeach STEM Education Association’s (USEA) 2018 Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award. UTeach is a science and mathematics secondary teacher preparation program that began in 1997 to address the need for more highly qualified science and math teachers. READ MORE

Don't forget to make your way to the Arlington 4th of July parade next week to catch two UTA floats in the procession. UTA dignitaries, spirit groups, and the UTA Marching Band will be a large part of the annual festivities and community spirit. READ MORE

Men's Track & Field Win Triple Crown

UTA’s John Sauerhage and Alexus Henry earned lofty awards from the Texas Track & Field Coaches Association. Sauerhage was named the Women’s Collegiate Coach of the Year, while Henry claimed Women’s Collegiate Field Athlete of the Year accolades. READ MORE
