Maverick Speakers Series embarks on 10th anniversary season

Cawthon named dean for Liberal Arts

Elisabeth Cawthon has been named the new dean of the College of Liberal Arts. Dr. Cawthon has served as interim dean for the past year. She joined UTA in 1988 and has been associate professor and associate chair of the Department of History. She received the UT System Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award in 2012.


Celebrate Independence Day with annual parade

Look for UTA's two floats in the annual Arlington Fourth of July Parade, which begins Tuesday, July 4, and winds through downtown Arlington and the College Park District. LEARN MORE.


West Nile Virus case reported in Fort Worth

Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) has confirmed the first human case of West Nile Virus for the 2017 season. The case is in Fort Worth and is the mild form of the disease. To do your part in eradicating mosquitos this summer, watch TCPH’s videos Mosquitoes Love Water, Eliminate Mosquito Breeding Sites, and Barrier Treatments to Prevent Mosquitoes.


Volunteers for emergency drill receive free T-shirt, lunch

Hundreds of volunteer actors are needed for UTA's full-scale emergency response drill on Monday, July 31. The goal of the drill is to evaluate UTA’s response to an active shooter incident. Emergency responders from UTA and the City of Arlington’s police and fire departments will take part in the exercise at College Park Center. Lunch and a T-shirt will be provided to all participants. Register to volunteer.

Tuesday, July 4—Independence Day holiday; no classes; UTA closed.

Thursday, July 6—Last day to drop classes for 14-week term; submit requests to adviser prior to 4 p.m.

Monday, July 10—Registration ends for second five-week term.

Tuesday, July 11—First day of classes for second five-week term.

Tuesday-Wednesday, July 11-12—Late registration for second five-week term.
