UTA Engineering Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors educate middle school, high school, and community college students on engineering fields, engineering programs at UTA, and the importance of math and science.  This group of engineering majors shares the students’ perspective of the University and the College.

What do Engineering Student Ambassadors Do?

  • Provide information to prospective students about the College of Engineering via social media, email, phone calls, letters, postcards, etc.
  • Meet one-on-one with future students and parents
  • Represent the College of Engineering at college and career fairs, transfer fairs, school visits, New Maverick orientation, Maverick Experience, and more
  • Participate in STEM-focused events at area schools
  • Lead tours of the College
  • Participate on student panels
  • Represent the College at community, industry and university and alumni functions

Why does engineering excite you? The fact that continuous innovation in engineering has transformed human living standards over the ages fuels my excitement to contribute to this progress by directly applying well-researched concepts to solve real world problems.

What do you like most about UTA College of Engineering? UTA is truly my second home, given the warmth, helpfulness, and friendliness of the faculty and staff. The past four years of this enriching educational journey has nurtured my dreams and strengthened my resolve to realize them.

What is your ideal job after graduation? My ideal job would be one that complements my college education. I would like to work as an engineer in the manufacturing/automation industry. I plan to involve myself in the design and execution of automated manufacturing processes.

What engineering innovation/breakthrough would you like to create? With the ever-growing global population and the simultaneous need for more natural resources, the earth’s resources are fast depleting. By designing a manufacturing process or a product within it, I hope to significantly reduce the number of non-renewable resources used to manufacture certain consumer goods.

Why does engineering excite you? I love the fact that I get to work with technology. I really like math and science. I am passionate about engineering because those are the main courses involved with engineering.

What do you like most about UTA College of Engineering? The different organizations that help you grow as a leader. I love the people and the networking opportunities.

What is your ideal job after graduation? I want to work with control systems, so I would like to work with cars, airplanes, or rockets.

What engineering innovation/breakthrough would you like to create? I would like to create an electric car that will be able to travel for a long distance.

Why does engineering excite you? Engineering excites me because it gives me the opportunity to be creative and to work with tasks that better me as an individual.

What do you like most about UTA College of Engineering? I like UT Arlington Engineering because it has a lot of diversity and it allows me to work with peers from different corners of the world.

What is your ideal job after graduation? An ideal job after college for me is a job that allows me to be creative and think outside the box. It is a job that will help me to be innovative and support me through the process.

What engineering innovation/breakthrough would you like to create? I would like to be an entrepreneur and start my own engineering logistics firm one day. I would like to input six sigma and lean in my firm and help companies cut costs and waste and potentially create a green environment.

Why does engineering excite you? Engineering is exciting because it allows us to have hands-on experiences with innovative technologies in a creative environment.

What do you like most about UTA College of Engineering? I like that the College has such a large diversity of students. Meeting motivated and passionate students helps encourage me to stay persistent in my studies and ambitions.

What is your ideal job after graduation? I would work to help develop low-cost technologies that would help consumers in their everyday lives.

What engineering innovation/breakthrough would you like to create? I would like to create a fold-able grocery cart that can move up and down stairs. I could see this making a beneficial impact on people who live in apartments (or Trinity).

Why does engineering excite you? Engineering excites me because there's not a situation where you stop learning. You might run into walls every now and then but with enough work you can also continue learning.

What do you like most about UTA College of Engineering? The College is an open place where I can pursue my degree. All of the professors and students create an open platform for me to truly progress as much as I want.

What is your ideal job after graduation? After finishing my degree I would like to work at Google. Starting off slowly at first but eventually I want to be a project manager.

What engineering innovation/breakthrough would you like to create? If I create anything, it would be an actual hover craft that floats people around. It would be a computer program that could control speed, angle and height. I think it would be very enjoyable.

Why does engineering excite you? Engineering is an exciting world, full of possibilities. It encourages me to nurture a creative, innovative mind. It is the very foundation of numerous groundbreaking inventions including smartphones, hybrid cars, and wireless internet.

What do you like most about UTA College of Engineering? The two best things about UTA's College of Engineering are the dedicated instructors who are passionate about their subjects and genuinely care about the student success and the classmates that are as ambitious as I am. The healthy competition among students is what encourages me to study diligently and be involved in the campus community.

What is your ideal job after graduation? After graduation, I aspire to work with an automaker as a design and manufacturing engineer.

What engineering innovation/breakthrough would you like to create? I hope to work with other engineers to further develop fuel-efficient cars that are affordable and environmentally friendly.

Why does engineering excite you? Engineers are the problem solvers of the world. I feel that the degree that I am working towards will give me the tools I need in order to make a change in the world.

What do you like most about UTA College of Engineering? The COE provides many research opportunities to its’ students, and I think this help us better prepare for the challenges we will face once we are out working in the real world.

What is your ideal job after graduation? I hope to go to medical school to attain my MD/Ph.D. From there I hope to work as a cardiologist and research cardiac pacemakers.

What engineering innovation/breakthrough would you like to create? I would like to design a cardiac pacemaker that measures ejection fraction because it would help lead to better outcomes for patients with CHF and other cardiac diseases.
