Friday, June 24, 2011
Congratulations are in order for UTA College of Engineering professors Frank Lu and Don Wilson, as well as their collaborator Phillip Panicker, for their patent titled, "Internal Detonation Reciprocating Engine," (US PATENT 7,958,732:06/14/11). Both Lu and Wilson have been a valued part of UT Arlington's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department for a number of years.
This newest achievement is only one example of the outstanding research being conducted at the Aerodynamic Research Center (ARC). ARC has been in existence at UT Arlington since the 1930s; the center's current research focuses on experimental high-speed and high-temperature aerodynamics, shock/boundary layer interaction and detonation.
