Zeno Featured at Austin Trade Show

Monday, August 12, 2013

Visitors to the National Instruments Show play with Zeno the Robot.

Zeno the robot travelled to Austin in early August as the star of the UTA/Hanson Robokind booth at National Instruments Week 2013.

The booth featured Electrical Engineering professor Dan Popa's team's work with the Zeno, as well as materials about the College of Engineering and the UT Arlington Research Institute.

In addition to Zeno, Ph.D. student Nahum Torres introduced the College's Microrobotics Challenge team that travelled to Germany earlier this year.

"This was a very successful event that provided great exposure for UTA to the approximately 4,000 participants at the event. There was constant traffic at our display, with the press, companies, and lots of kids and their parents visiting and seeing what Zeno can do," Popa said. "Special thanks goes to Monica Beltran, Nahum Torres, Suresh Sampathkumar, Jonathan Kretz, and Ashley Witt from UTARI, who handled the logistics and manned the booth for the four day event."
