Lonestar 3D Wins E-Week Challenge, Futurista is Fan Favorite

Lonestar 3DLonestar 3D won the third-annual E-Week Student Challenge for their 3D food printer system, and Futurista was voted "Fan Favorite" in the competition that kicked off UTA's celebration of Engineers Week.

Futurista won the Fan Favorite plaque during voting that took place at the men's basketball game on February 18.

This year's student challenge asked student teams to consider solutions to current and future healthcare problems. Six teams presented their work to a group of judges that included members of the College's Board of Advisors, friends of the College of Engineering and faculty.

Final Results:

First place: Lonestar 3D, for their project, “3D Food Printer System” (Joyce Wolff, Zachary Chavez, John Matthews, Jarrod Nix, Kolton Kimball)

Second place: Mavs Against Cancer, for their project, “Blood/Urine Test for Early Cancer Detection” (Adeel Sajid, Samir Nathu, Mohammad R. Hasan)

Third place: Futurista for their project, “Power of Big Data Analytics and Virtual Reality in Future Healthcare” (Jayesh Doolani, Sanika Gupta, Amav Garg)
