College Mourns Passing of CSE's Donggang Liu

Donggang Liu, an associate professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department, passed away March 20 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.
His wife and parents, who had arrived from China on Friday, were with him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, at 10 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington. A memorial fund for his family has been established at https://www.youcaring.com/donggangliu.
Liu made his mark on his colleagues and peers during his short time at UTA. His research interests included network and distributed system security with a focus on wireless security and system security.
He joined the University in 2005 as an assistant professor after earning his doctoral degree at N.C. State, and was promoted to associate professor in 2011. He earned an M.S. Degree from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Science, and a B.S. Degree at the Beijing Institute of Technology.
