Monday, January 7, 2019
Sixty-seven undergraduate engineering students earned perfect 4.0 grade-point averages and 300 were named to the dean’s list for the recently completed fall semester.
The Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Departments, the College’s largest, had 108 and 92 students, respectively, named to the list. Twenty-six students in CSE and 20 in MAE earned perfect GPAs.
“Our commitment is to provide the best quality education and opportunities for hands-on research and work experiences so that our students are able to achieve their career goals. These students exemplify the hard work and accomplishment that we expect from all of our students, both in the classroom and in the lab,” said Peter E. Crouch, dean of the College of Engineering.
To be named to the Dean's List, a student must major in one of the COE undergraduate programs, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 and have at least 45 cumulative credit hours, of which at least 24 (letter-graded) were earned at UTA.
UTA's College of Engineering is the fourth-largest in Texas and its seven departments, six of which offer undergraduate programs, boast the most comprehensive offerings in North Texas. The College, which was ranked tied for #110 in the 2018 U.S. News and World Report Undergraduate Rankings, awards bachelor’s degrees in 11 areas. More than 4,600 of the College’s 7,256 students are undergraduates.
The College also offers graduate degrees in 14 master’s and nine doctoral areas of focus.
