SCRF and OurCS@DFW promo image with laptops and high-tech graphicsIn February, CSE will host two events to encourage diversity in computing. Faculty members Chengkai Li, Ming Li, Shirin Nilizadeh and Carter Tiernan, with support from various CSE and College of Engineering faculty and staff, are leading these efforts.

OurCS@DFW is a Google-funded, three-day weekend (February 14-16) of hands-on research workshops for undergraduate women from North Texas. It will be kicked off by a Google TensorFlow workshop on February 14 that will be open to under-represented students.

Following OurCS@DFW, the Student Computing Research Festival, funded by NCWIT and Microsoft Research, will be held on February 17. The all-day event will allow UTA students of any major to showcase their computing-related work, learn from professional role models, and engage with leaders of industry and society.
