Short Shots Film Festival gives UTA students a chance to showcase their original short films and to compete for a chance to win awards in 6 different categories!

Short Shots will feature five-minute film submissions using any film equipment that students want to use. Sometimes we take for granted the ability of the things we have at our disposal; smart phones are capable of more than just surfing the internet and texting! Short Shots Film Festival will allow students to produce extraordinary films using these ordinary pieces of technology.

If you would like to attend the event and do not have a UTA parking permit, click here to register your vehicle. This will allow you to park in lots F11 and F12 (across from the University Center) on April 23rd, 5pm-9pm.

how to submit your film

  • All films should be in .mp4 format and no more than 5 minutes long.

  • Upload your film to your personal Google drive at (if you do not already have a Google account, please create one). 

  • Once uploaded, right click on the video and click “get shareable link.” This will make your video shareable. 

  • Copy and paste the link from the video onto the submissions application. 

  • Submit your application below
