We develop theoretical foundations and applications to enhance the resilience and sustainability of Infrastructure systems by leveraging the availability of big data sources along with recent advances in statistics/computer science/operations research.
Dr. Shahandashti is an assistant professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). He joined UTA immediately after receiving PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil Engineering in Texas. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers. He has recieved several awards, including a best paper award in the category of Optimization and Computational Techniques from the International Associations for Automation and Robotics in Construction.
Dr. Shahandashti's present and past research activities have been funded by National Science Foundation (NSF), Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Louisiana Department of Transportation (Louisiana DOT), Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT), City of Arlington, North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), Engineering Information Foundation (EIF), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and Construction Industry Institute (CII).
