Scholarship recipients who are nonresidents of Texas or citizens of a country other than the United States of America may be eligible to pay the in-state tuition rate if they are awarded a competitive scholarship through UTA. The competitive scholarships that may be considered for an out-of-state tuition waiver must be a minimum of $1,000 for the period of time within the academic year covered by the scholarship, not to exceed 12 months. Please note that the out-of-state tuition waiver is not guaranteed, is contingent upon funding and may vary in availability.
Click here for a listing of the scholarships offered by the Scholarships Office that may include the out-of-state tuition waiver. Information about the waiver will be included in the details contained in the scholarship offer letter from the Scholarships Office.
At the discretion of the awarding department, college/school and Office of the Provost, a limited number of highly competitive awards may include a waiver of non-resident tuition and fees for the registration period for which the scholarship is awarded. Please note that not all scholarships awarded through a department will include the out-of-state tuition waiver.
