Academic Program Review

The University of Texas System requires that all academic programs be reviewed regularly to evaluate their quality and their effectiveness in supporting the University's mission. Program reviews evaluate the teaching, student learning, research, and service activities of each academic program on a regular schedule, and are used to advise the UT Arlington administration of ways in which the program can be made more effective. It is the University of Texas at Arlington’s policy that all undergraduate and graduate programs be subject to regularly scheduled rigorous external review, either by external accrediting agencies or through the processes described in the Program Review Manual. The Academic Program Review Schedule lists dates on which the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board expects each department’s graduate programs to be reviewed. The departments’ undergraduate programs are to be reviewed when their graduate programs are reviewed unless the undergraduate reviews are conducted on a different schedule as required by an external accrediting agency.
