UTA Fraternity and Sorority Life staff works alongside chapter leaders and governing council officers to ensure that members of the fraternity and sorority community have a meaningful experience at UTA that enhances their academic experience and better prepares them to be global citizens.
The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life staff are committed to enhancing student development through the use of various leadership opportunities. Fraternity and sorority members are encouraged to apply to participate in these experiences and take advantage of all that membership in fraternity and sorority life has to offer!
While getting a degree is the primary reason to attend UTA, fraternities and sororities offer opportunities for social interaction and development as well. Social and recreational activities give members the opportunity to meet a variety of people and to strengthen the bonds of friendship at the same time. Participation in other events, such as community-wide events, demonstrates fraternity and sorority unity and Maverick pride.
Harm reduction and risk education is an important component of the fraternity and sorority experience. Harm reduction includes the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, understanding membership expectations, and the accountability measures associated with failure to meet them.
