Because Homecoming is a time to reconnect with your Maverick spirit, and that means returning to the campus you love. Being with friends you remember fondly. And getting back in touch with the place and the people that helped make you who you are today.
Sunday, November 5
Home Run for the Heart
2-5 p.m. // Allan Saxe Field
The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity invites you to partner with us for the third annual Home Run for the Heart benefiting the Texas Heart Institute, UTA Emergency Assistance Fund, and the Erica Hochmeister Scholarship. This community-wide event will be an afternoon full of family-friendly activities, food truck refreshments, and a home run derby. We'll see you there.

Downtown Arlington Homecoming Challenge Begins
All Day // Various Locations
Businesses in Downtown Arlington showcase their Maverick pride by decorating their storefronts with blue, orange, and white! Vote for the most spirited business on the Homecoming Facebook page. There will be Judges' Choice and People's Choice awards. Businesses must be decorated by Monday, November 6. Voting will conclude on Friday, November 10 at 4 p.m. Winners recognized during Homecoming basketball game.
Paint Your Ride With Maverick Pride
11 a.m.-1 p.m. // Arlington Hall Circle
Get ready for Homecoming as the FLOC (Freshman Leaders On Campus) members paint vehicles for the festivities. Stop by to have your car painted with Maverick pride!
Tuesday, November 7

Exchange those old school rags for designer Maverick duds. Stop by the Ambassador table to bring in any non-UTA collegiate t-shirt and we'll swap it out for a free UTA Homecoming t-shirt.

Can you handle the heat? Join the Homecoming crew and the Division of Student Affairs for the annual Chili Cook-Off. Teams will compete to win the ultimate prize of Chili Cook-Off champion, bragging rights, and an awesome trophy. Open to all UTA students, faculty, staff, and alumni groups.

Thursday, November 9

Join the UTA Libraries in a Texas Homecoming tradition of mum making. Make one for a significant other, a friend or for yourself! You don't want to miss out on this chance to make awesome Maverick mums! Don’t know what a mum is? Well stop by and find out!
4-5:30 p.m. // Palo Duro Lounge, UC
Join us for our Homecoming-themed Global Grounds, International Coffee Hour. We will be serving chai and a variety of snacks in the Palo Duro, open to all students!
8 p.m. // College Park Center
For one night, UTA will host the biggest party in town! Come to the College Park Center for the dance party of the year. Enjoy snacks, photo booths, and even an arcade. The doors open at 8 p.m., and the event will feature live DJs, lights, and laser shows! Admission is $8 for UTA students, $12 for the general public, and if you’re a student, look for the student bundle! The bundle consists of a Homecoming shirt, an LED bracelet, and a ticket for admission. On November 4, prices will increase to $10, $15, and $16.

Friday, November 10
Movin’ Mavs Wheelchair Basketball Tournament
10 a.m.-9 p.m. // Maverick Activities Building and Physical Education Building
The Jim Hayes Memorial Wheelchair Basketball Tournament is an Intercollegiate and Division 1 Wheelchair Basketball Tournament with some of the best teams in the country. Several Paralympic athletes and USA National Team athletes will be representing their college or community programs in some of the toughest competition in the country. There will be games in both men's and women's divisions.
Veteran Appreciation Pre-Game Tailgate
4-6 p.m. // Texadelphia
Friday, November 10, is Military Appreciation Night at the Mavericks volleyball game. Prior to the game, UTA Veteran Programs and the Mav Vets are inviting all current, former, and future service members from the campus to join us on the Green for a pre-game tailgate party and social. Afterward all veterans are welcome to attend the volleyball game inside College Park Center, free of charge.

Our annual awards dinner is a night where we recognize distinguished alumni for their individual achievements, contributions to their industries or professions, service to their community and demonstrated loyalty to UTA. This year, we welcome our newest honorees to a tradition of excellence as they join the distinguished alumni who came before them. We hope you will attend!

A scramble with other Mavericks, breakfast, lunch, refreshments, prizes, and 18 holes of golf at Waterchase Golf Club for only $55. How can you say no? Come hit the links with us. Open to the entire UTA community.

This year’s Homecoming 5K route is a scenic one throughout the UTA campus. Both walking and running entries are accepted. Awards, food and activities will follow the race. All proceeds will benefit the UTA Emergency Assistance Fund.

Movin’ Mavs Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

Take it to the streets, Maverick-style. You’ll play games, enjoy delicious food at complimentary sampling tents, and check out all the fun activities. Get a tattoo that won’t horrify your mother at a temporary tattoo booth and groove to tunes provided by the onsite DJ.
4:30-6:30 p.m. // College Park Center Northwest Deck
Join your fellow UTA fraternity and sorority alumni to celebrate Homecoming with a reunion on the plaza! There will be great music, party food, and drinks. Adult admission is $25 and includes your tickets to the women’s and men’s games, appetizers, and one drink coupon (cash bar available) and a $5 contribution to the Kent Gardner Scholarship Endowment. Tickets for children through age 12 are $10 and include the games, refreshments, and a soft drink. Feel free to come and go to all of the street festival activities and watch the Homecoming parade with the best view from the College Park Center Northwest deck prior to cheering on the Mavericks at the Homecoming game vs Loyola Marymount.
Shorthorn/Student Publications Homecoming Reception
4:30 to 6:30 p.m. // Student Publications Office, B100 University Center
Join your fellow Shorthorn and Student Publications alumni during UTA’s Homecoming festivities! We’ll have music, games, snacks, and drinks for you as you catch up with your former colleagues in the Student Publications offices. After you find your first bylines or show off your vintage Shorthorn T-shirts, walk with the current Shorthorn staff in the annual golf-cart parade or cheer them on from the street festival. Free. Join your fellow UTA student leader alumni under a tent on Moritz Plaza to celebrate Homecoming! There will be great music, party food, and drinks. Adult admission is $25 and includes your tickets to the women’s and men’s games, appetizers, and one drink coupon (cash bar available) and a $5 contribution to the Wayne Duke Student Leadership Scholarship Fund. Tickets for children through age 12 are $10 and include the games, refreshments, and a soft drink. Feel free to come and go to all of the street festival activities and watch the Homecoming parade prior to cheering on the Mavericks at the Homecoming game vs Loyola Marymount.

Lights, Camera, Mavericks! UTA Goes Hollywood. This year's Homecoming parade starts with a grand production number not to be missed. After that, the parade procession begins. We'll have big floats, marching bands, special guests, and our traditional decorated golf carts. It all winds up with a pep rally in front of College Park Center. All student, faculty, and staff groups are invited to participate in the parade! Prizes of $250 and $100 will be given to the first and second place entries in both the department and student organization categories.

Maverick men face-off with the Loyola Marymount Lions for a Homecoming showdown for the ages. Gather your friends, fill the seats with UTA orange and blue, cheer loud enough to make the ground shake, and show the visiting Lions fans who truly rules the court. Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime, and the winner of the Downtown Arlington Homecoming Challenge will be announced in the second half.

Join your fellow Mavericks and cheer on the men’s and women’s basketball teams at their games on Saturday, November 11. The women’s game tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., while the men tip-off at 7 p.m. The $15 ticket price includes your ticket to both games in the alumni reserved section, a t-shirt, UTA alumni goody bag, free popcorn, and a $5 contribution to support alumni programs at UTA. Kids 12 and under are $5. Come early for the street festival beginning at 3 p.m.
